Shipping & Returns


For in-stock items, we aim to ship your order in 3-5 business days.


If an item is not in stock and you are pre-ordering it we will make it and ship it in 2-4 weeks. Please note that we keep many of our items in stock and we create new ones to keep our stock levels. You can contact us via email if you need to know if an item is in stock.

You can only pre-order an item through our website if there is no stock. If you wish to place a larger order than the stock available on our website you can always contact us and we will advise on the production timeline.

Shipping costs are estimated before payment. If you have any questions regarding shipping please contact us before placing your order.

Once your order is fulfilled you will receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking number.

If you need expedited shipping, contact us directly before placing an order and we can calculate those costs on an individual basis.

If you live near our studio you can choose to collect your order at no additional cost.

We try to ship green and use mostly recyclable material. We make sure the products we use make for a lovely unpacking experience and keep your goods super safe while in transit.

We still ship in the EU but please note that customs and import duties might be charged. Sofia Ceramics is not responsible for these charges. If you fail to pay for any customs or import duties and the item(s) are returned to us the cost of the delivery for returned goods will be charged to you or deducted from a potential refund. If you are unsure of the taxes that are charged in your country you can contact us and we can try to create a listing through our Etsy page.

Return & Exchange Policy

I gladly accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations.

  • If you receive your pottery and are not 100% happy with them, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will send you instructions on how to ship the items back to us. We will then issue you a full refund once we receive the pieces in “like new” condition. If you do not like your pottery, the return shipping charges are on you.

  • Dispatch items back within 14 days

  • Request a cancellation as soon as possible. If we have items in stock sometimes we ship orders the same day!

  • Most of our dinnerware items are Made to Order and we keep in stock our basic/standard collections. This means that we create those pieces from scratch specifically for your order or to keep our stock levels.

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

  • Custom or personalized orders

  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)

  • Digital downloads

  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)

Unless you’re returning or exchanging an item that arrived defective or damaged, you will be responsible for shipping costs. Please note that it’s your responsibility to ensure that fragile items are returned to us intact. We’re unable to exchange items that are returned to us in anything less than like-new condition, so if the item is damaged in transit, you won’t receive a refund. Bring your return to a trusted shipper to pack the items if you're worried about your packaging skills.


If you receive pottery that has been damaged in shipping, please contact us within 48 hours of the delivery date with photos of damaged items. We can then work out a refund/exchange. After 48 hours of the delivery date, damaged goods will not be taken into consideration as we are in need of the photos for our claim to the shipping company.

We don't offer refunds to vouchers past the 14-day mark. Please also note that refunds can be only processed to the original payment method. If your voucher expired we don't offer extension or refunds

how to care

The nature of our goods allows for slight variances among sets being sold, glaze colours, shapes, and sizes. Not one piece is exactly like the next. This characteristic is looked upon with delight from the artist, being able to give each customer a very special creation just for them.

In caring for your Sofia Ceramics wares, note that all pieces were designed to be used on a daily basis. Every piece is microwave, dishwasher, and food safe. Please note that items that have gold or silver cannot be placed in the microwave. See our Materials & Care section on our FAQ page.
